CATTLE
Our British cross cows are bred to calve in June and we overwinter the calves to be sold as yearlings the following August.  Limousin bulls are currently used as a terminal cross with all resulting offspring sold.

Branding time is a highlight of the year for the boys and the majority of the cattle work is done horseback.

SHEEP
In 2008 we expanded our ranching operation to include commercial wool sheep.  Our intent is to build up a Targhee cross ewe flock and use Suffolk rams as a terminal cross to produce high yielding market lambs.

Sheep compliment our cattle enterprise and offer alternative forage management for invasive species and brush encroachment.

After researching and touring other range based operations we have gone with a May lambing flock.  This reduces our work load and allows the sheep to remain out on the land for the majority of the year.  The ewes lamb at a time when there is adequate nutrition from the lush spring grass.
